Jambo !
Bamburi beach hotel, Mombasa, has its own private ocean front, recently
enhanced with a wooden boardwalk area which has typically Kenyan
picturesque views of the ocean and beach. There are many activities that
can either be organised or enjoyed ad hoc, ranging from a wide selection
of water sports to an afternoon's siesta ! Hotel facilities are in
conformity with the accepted 3 star levels - 2 restaurant areas, an al a
carte Fusion Restaurant on the beach front, an oasis of a swimming pool
area in the front with another smaller one in the rear of the hotel. The
main pool has an interesting and colourful bar area. The reception area
is cleverly designed with a surrounding fountain and garden area
immediately giving the visitor an impression of the property which is at
once pleasing and relaxing. Children have their own enjoyment area and
families can arrange with staff for extra care.
The Bamburi beach hotel is conveniently located on the north coast of
Kenya and its main international airport at Mombasa. This recently
refurbished Kenya hotel facility offers the All Inclusive concept and is
set amid lush tropical gardens, with extensive white sandy beaches
overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean.
There are many areas of interest to the visitor of this area of the
country. For travellers to the area, further north, from Mtwapa up to
Malindi the scenery is a collage of rolling baobab, sisal plantations,
cashew trees, thick jungle and swamp up to an even bigger extinct river
course at Kilifi Creek. On the way there is the lost city of Jumbala
Mtwapa - a long abandoned relic shrouded in jungle. The mangrove swamps
are the seasonal roost of thousands of Carmine Bee-eaters which descend
in a riot of exotic colour and is a most unusual sight.
Very close to the hotel, the eco-friendly Bamburi Nature trail lies
across the creek that separates the island of Mombasa from the north
coast of Kenya, crossing the Nyali area. The Trail is a somewhat unique
development in that huge tracts of land were carved up to supply raw
material for the cement factory - old coral. Conservation issues are
hugely important nowadays. These areas are no longer used by the factory
and instead have been given back to nature. Assisted in part by the
factory itself this area has been re-developed - and now covers many
acres of pools, trees, grasses, and lately - fauna. This is an ongoing
process and as time passed more animals resulting in a pleasant
environment once degraded.
The property is in an ideal location to offer visitors easy access to
facilities close by - shopping, seeking arts and crafts, entertainment
and a range of tours and activities to be enjoyed on the coast, or
inland to the famous wildlifes areas of the country. This coastal area
to the north, extending some 70 kilometres (45 miles) from the Nyali
bridge to Kilifi, is a paradise of sand and bright blue sea. One of the
coast's more recent National Marine Parks, the Mombasa Marine National
Park, lies off the Nyali headland. On the northern end of the Nyali
coastal strip lies the fascinating Mamba Crocodile Village. Further
north is Mtwapa Creek - an old river course cut deep into the limestone.
The shores on either side are lined with marinas and watersports
centres.
Come and stay in this exciting area !
